Wikis

I've cancelled the new blog of How To Videos for web tools and have created a wiki (my new learning) which has a link on the right. A wiki is more suitable as it allows others to contribute to it. Go and have a look and post your thoughts here.

Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad,

As a student of Digital Media taking a Web and Graphic Design Paper, I implore you to edit the colours on your Wiki. Blue on Red is not a good combination for the eyes. If you are looking for a more professional look, neutral colours would help a lot, instead of the page leaping at you and hurting the eyes.

My Web Design tutor also recommends changing the colours.

Suggest colours please.

Personally I like a darker background with light coloured font, but not all will. Kiwibiker ( http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/ ) is an example.

Alternatively a very light blue-grey with black font looks nice.

The problem with a fluro-type background colour is that any writing will seem to be 3D, ie it will float and come out at you. The blue on the light green does that for me.

You could keep it simple and use white background with a light coloured highlight like Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page ).

I think that less is more when it comes to web pages ... whatever you do don't use an image tiled repeatedly as your background with cutesy icons that float everywhere and piped midi sound playing when the page (finally) loads!

PS: Sucks that URL tags don't work on Blogspot comments !
